2026 Arts & Literacy Festival: "Draw Us Your Brownsville Story" Art Contest
Show us your Brownsville story through art! Join us for this free youth art contest during the 2026 Arts & Literacy Festival, held inside the Mitte Museum.
Young artists ages 5–16 are invited to participate in one of four age divisions:
Ages 5–7
Ages 8–10
Ages 11–13
Ages 14–16
When registering, choose how you'd like to participate:
Pre-made Masterpiece: Create your artwork at home and drop it off between 9:00 AM and 9:30 AM.
Live Contest: Create your artwork during the event from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM.
Event Schedule
9:00 AM: Registration Opens & Pre-made Artwork Drop-off Begins
9:30 AM: Live Contest Begins / Pre-made Drop-off Closes
10:30 AM: Final Submission Deadline & Judging Begins
11:30 AM: Awards Ceremony
Participation is free, but registration is encouraged. During registration, a parent or guardian must provide their name, contact phone number, and select the child's participation type.
