About Dean Porter Park
Located across from the renowned Gladys Porter Zoo, Dean Porter Park is Brownsville's most intensively developed urban park. Nestled along historic Town Resaca, the park features several civic buildings, including the Camille Playhouse, the Children's Museum, and the Costumes of the Americas Museum. A lighted boardwalk with picnic tables lines the resaca, providing a picturesque setting for fishing and birdwatching.

In addition to its cultural attractions, Dean Porter Park offers a variety of recreational amenities. The 25-acre park includes Sams Pool with a children's spray park, two playgrounds (one featuring a Spanish galleon), a fitness trail, and numerous picnic pavilions.
